With just 25 elegantly appointed rooms, each guest is treated to a unique level of privacy and attentive service, leaving us feeling cherished and catered to—every staff member seems to know your name, which adds a personal touch to the experience.

I'd suggest the spring and autumn months, when the gardens are at their most vibrant, whether it's cherry blossoms painting the landscape in shades of pink or fiery foliage transforming the surroundings into a kaleidoscope of colors. It's essential to keep in mind that the hotel is a roughly 30-minute drive from central Kyoto; while this distance promises seclusion, it might not be ideal for first-timers eager to explore the city actively. Nevertheless, Aman Kyoto provides a complimentary BMW service that makes getting back to the city a breeze. Although the hotel lacks a pool or gym—amenities often associated with luxury resorts—the expansive grounds offer plenty of opportunities to walk and enjoy the fresh air, while the indulgent indoor and outdoor Onsen provide a blissful escape for relaxation.
