Impressions
A hostel where I felt home. That's the first thing that comes to mind when I think about my stay at Kyoto Hostel Fairfield House. This calm and relaxing hostel provided the perfect atmosphere for a leisurely travel experience.
One of the main advantages of this hostel is its size. With only 15 beds, there is plenty of space per guest, making it feel more like a cozy home than a crowded hostel. The interior is new and well-maintained, with wooden supports adding a touch of warmth and charm. The staff at Fairfield House are incredibly friendly and always willing to help with recommendations and directions to the best spots in Kyoto.
Although there was one drawback during my stay, it did not overshadow the overall experience. The door between the social room and the dorm does not isolate sound very well, resulting in a need for earplugs to drown out noise at night. However, the hostel does provide earplugs and considering the affordable price, it is hard to complain too much about this minor inconvenience.
In terms of amenities, Fairfield House has clean and well-kept bathrooms, with two showers, three toilets, and three sinks. In the morning, a simple but satisfying breakfast of toast with jam is offered for free. It's a nice extra touch that adds to the overall positive experience.
It is important to note that this hostel is not the place to go if you're looking for a party atmosphere. Fairfield House is all about relaxation and tranquility. If you're in the mood for a chilled-out stay in Kyoto, this hostel is the perfect choice. However, if you prefer a more lively environment, their second hostel in the city may be more to your liking.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Kyoto Hostel Fairfield House for leisure travelers seeking serenity and a welcoming atmosphere. Despite a minor issue with noise isolation, the spaciousness, friendly staff, and overall cozy ambiance make this hostel a great choice for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Kyoto.
