While the train noise might be an initial concern, our family found that it did not disrupt our sound sleep and we were not bothered by it at all.
Conveniently located just a short 5-minute walk from the train station, Tofukuji Guest House Ichigo-Ichie's owner goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. From providing detailed directions to promptly answering any questions we had, their hospitality was commendable. What impressed us the most was their flexibility with the check-in time, as our train arrived in the afternoon at 2pm.
It's the perfect base for exploring Kyoto and escaping the tourist crowds. A highlight of our stay was the easy 15-20 minute walk to the famous Fushimi Inari Shrine. We recommend going early in the morning to beat the crowds and capture some incredible photos of the iconic torii gates. This unique and unforgettable experience truly made us feel like locals, providing a glimpse into the everyday life of Kyoto residents.
